Society truly does not understand anxiety attacks and depression. Unfortunately, some doctors and researchers do not understand anxiety attacks and depression either and yet these are the people who have to prescribe medications to treat these issues.

This is because anxiety attacks and depression are very difficult to diagnose. The symptoms may simply be a short term difficult time the patient is going through, or it can be something more serious. Thankfully, there are some ways in which you can cope with your anxiety attacks and depression without your doctor's help.

First of all, you need to eat healthy so that you can maintain your energy level and improve your mood. Food plays a major role in your overall feeling and wellbeing. Load yourself with good, high energy foods (NOT sugar) such as fruit and vegetables, and you will instantly feel better.

Secondly, you should avoid stimulants. This includes caffeine, sugar and cold medicines. If you are trying to use these stimulants to pick your energy up, you need to understand that their effects will eventually wear off, leaving you feeling even lower than before because you will be unable to sleep.

Third, you should avoid drugs and alcohol, not only because they are illegal, but also because they most drugs are downers.

Fourth, take some time to exercise daily because you can burn off stress and release endorphins in your brain, which will make you feel better.

Fifth, and finally, make sure that you have someone whom you can talk to and confide in. Once you talk some stuff out with this person, you will feel calm as this will relieve tension.
