Tooth decay at times can be extremely painful. Proper care if not taken at the right time one may have to loose the tooth. In serious decay problems the decay spreads from one tooth to the other. As it is said, that prevention is better than care. Similarly for the best tooth care avoid all the tooth decay in the right time. If right care is taken, factors that aggravate decaying can be checked at the right time. A systematic and approach can help to prevent tooth decay easily.

Systematic approach to prevent tooth decay

1. Sugar is one the most common factor that leads to tooth decay. As a matter of fact, the tooth start decaying in 45 minutes after one eats any food containing sugar. For the best care one should brush teeth immediately after brushing. Remember it won't be of much help if brushing is done after a long time. Normally it takes 6 to 8 hours for the damage to get repaired by the natural saliva which is done by sugar in 45 minutes.

2. To prevent tooth decay it is advisable to reduce sugary foods during meals. Similarly, avoid snacks between meals.

3. Saliva helps the most to clear decay in the tooth. Fluoride helps greatly in this process. For the best results use mouthwash that contain fluoride and brush twice in a day.

4. In case if there are some decays in the tooth don't decay going for the decay diagnosis. This tool identifies the decay after close examination. It advisable to for this test in the early stage to minimize the damage. Tooth decay if is detected in the early stage can be treated easily without filling. A regular check up can keep the decay away for a lifetime.

There is a common misconception that tooth decay is more common with soft teethes. As a matter of fact improper care is the main reason of decay and can arise in all types. of teeth. On the other hand, many people think that once filing is done their tooth is free from decay. However, this problem will repeat again and again if proper care is not taken.
