Child Care
Children usually are prone to neglecting their teeth. They do not have proper brushing habits and like to indulge in those foodstuffs and drinks that they must actually avoid. Also, it is very difficult to control or refrain them from staying away from their favorite ice creams, chocolates, soft drink and candy sweets. Though these foodstuffs imply absolute delight for the kids, too much of these foodstuffs spell doom for their teeth. Also, they do not take any care while brushing. Hence all the emphasis lies with the parents and how they handle their kids.
The first thing that parents must do is inculcate a sense of responsibility among the kids to take care of their teeth. They must make them aware of the harmful effects that their favorite foodstuffs and drinks can have on their teeth and that they must consume them in a controlled way. Also, children must be made to follow a healthy diet that includes ample amount of milk, cheese, yogurt, vegetables and fruits. Also, they must be taught the right techniques of brushing their teeth so that maximum dirt and floss can be removed. Also, parents must take them to the dentist once every month and conduct an extensive dental check-up. The dentist can check for any cropping dental disorders.
Children must be made to brush twice everyday, once in the morning and once at night before going to bed. If they have sweets for snacks, then they must be made to brush right away. Parents must also ensure that their children use the proper toothbrushes. Children have a sensitive set of teeth and the wrong brushes can cause harm to their teeth or to the gums.
It is up to the parents to ensure that their children do not suffer from painful teeth disorders or tooth decay. They must see to it that they smile with a sparkle.
