Friday, May 2nd, 2008Natural sources of vitamin D:
Vitamin D is classified as a fat soluble vitamin. It is naturally available in different types of fruits, vegetables and other plant parts. It can also be synthesized within the body after exposure to the ultra violet of the sun. Of all the natural sources of vitamin D sunshine is considered to be the most significant one because of the fact that the Ultra violet from the sun triggers vitamin synthesis within the skin. Scientific research and studies conducted in this regard suggests that exposure to sunlight provides most of the humans with the vitamin requirement. Other than this nature has provided ample source of this vitamin in varied food sources, the most prominent of which are the fortified foods that primarily includes milk. The cereals also act as a good source of the same as most of the cereal grains fortified with it.
